How this list is compiled

Listings are built from the federal Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau permit register, then cross-checked against OpenStreetMap, Wikidata and each producer’s own website. Federal records do not include websites, phone numbers or opening hours, so some entries are fuller than others. Wineries can correct their own listing free at any time.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this list sourced?

From the federal Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau permit register, cross-checked against OpenStreetMap, Wikidata and each producer’s own website.

Are all of these wineries open to visitors?

No. A federal permit allows a business to produce wine; it does not mean there is a tasting room. Many small producers are appointment only, and some do not receive visitors at all. Check the winery’s own website before travelling.

Why are some listings missing a website or phone number?

Because the federal permit register does not record them. Fewer than half of all listings carry a website and about a quarter have a phone number. We add what we can verify, and wineries can fill in the rest themselves.

I own a winery. How do I correct my listing?

Claim it, free. You can correct every detail, add photographs and hours, and earn a Verified badge. There is a claim button on every unclaimed listing.
