Colorado Wine, in Brief

Colorado grows grapes higher than any other state, with vineyards on the Western Slope sitting between 4,000 and 7,000 feet. The Grand Valley around Palisade, famous for its peaches, is the heart of the industry, with a second cluster in the West Elks AVA above Paonia and Hotchkiss.
