Indiana's wine roots go back to the early 1800s, when Swiss settlers planted vines at Vevay on the Ohio River in what was then the largest vineyard in the country. Today the industry stretches across the state, with the largest concentration in the south along the Ohio River and in the hills around Bloomington and Nashville.
