New York Wine, in Brief

New York is the third-largest wine state and one of the most varied. The Finger Lakes produce some of the finest Riesling in America on the steep slopes above Seneca, Cayuga and Keuka lakes. Long Island's North Fork ripens Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc in a maritime climate.
